We trust you’ve had a fabulous festive season, and hopefully you found time to rest and relax during the holidays.
2012 is shaping up to be another fantastic year for BTC and community members, with many events well under way.
We look forward to catching up with you at one or more of these.
The committee depends on all members and volunteers to ensure the smooth running of our productions and activities.

Annual General Meeting
Notice is given to members of the Bendigo Theatre Company of the 55th Annual General Meeting to be held on
Tuesday 28th February commencing at 7.30pm at BTC ARTS SHED Allingham Street Golden Square

11. To consider any other business of which due notice has been given one week prior to the AGM

Artistic Development Program (ADP)
In response to requests from the community to meet a void in personal development, BTC conducted an Artistic Development Program during 2010. Under the Artistic Directorship of Matthew Emond we were proud to present the first ongoing, professionally supported theatre-training program in Bendigo.
Following the success of the 2011 ADP, it will continue in 2012. Training will be provided in performing, directing, lighting and production skills for emerging and experienced performers and production teams alike. Workshops will culminate into a full-scale production of Godspell to be staged in the Capital Theatre in May 2012.
An information session was presented on 3rd December 2011 and auditions were held on Saturday 4th February.
Successful Grant Application
BTC were successful in obtaining a cultural grant from The City of Greater Bendigo’s 2011-2012 program to contribute to the cost of purchasing a storage container. Useful space will be readily achieved inside by moving our bulky, but oh – so - valuable items such as large sets and props to the sheltered verandas and our recently purchased secure storage container in the backyard.
By “MOVING THE INSIDE OUT” more space is now available in THE SHED for ease of access and mobility. Many schools and community groups welcome the opportunity to hire/borrow a wide range of BTC’s stage resources eg sets, props, costumes and technical equipment. The construction of which is extremely time consuming. This system greatly enhances local productions and saves valuable time which can be directed to key elements such as acting, singing and movement. BTC are proud to support local community groups and schools in our region.
Grateful thanks are extend to the members and friends who attended the working bee last weekend to start “MOVING THE INSIDE OUT”
The Les Darcy Show
In November 2011 members and friends received a newsletter with information regarding BTC’s Launch of Season One for 2012. This included the ADP and Godspell production (to be staged in the Capital in May) and The Les Darcy Show (to be staged in the Arts Shed in March).
Many applications were received from people wanting to do both. Due to the final response with people choosing the ADP for their first choice for the first half of the year, we have postponed The Les Darcy Show to the second half of the year. We will keep you informed of date changes.
